6th gRADE technology

In this course, students learn about the nature of technology and engineering. Students have opportunities to study the scope of technology and its impacts on society. They learn about the core concepts of technology and about the various approaches to solving problems, including engineering design and experimentation. Students participate in engineering and design activities to understand how criteria, constraints, and processes affect designs. Project-based learning activities include a structural engineering challenge, race car design challenge, catapult design activity, and other exciting opportunities to learn about brainstorming, visualizing, modeling, constructing, testing, experimenting, and refining designs. Students also get the opportunity to develop creativity, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills to help them become better equipped for real world experiences.
